The House Downcraig is a traditional stone built house, with some modern additions. The original part of the house has walls nearly three feet thick. On entering through the front door, there is a hall at the far end of which is the bathroom. To the right is the staircase to the upper floor and to the left the drawing room. Through this room there is a small study, and beyond that a bedroom which looks on to the back garden. This room has two single beds and a bunk bed. There is also a basin in the room. Back in the hall, to the right is the dining room, and beyond is the kitchen and the back door onto the garden. Upstairs, there are three rooms, one with two beds, one with three and the third, a small room with a single bed in it. There is no plumbing upstairs. The drawing room has a TV/DVD/VCR and an open fire. The dining room has a multi-fuel stove and is fully equipped. The bathroom has a bath, basin, lavatory and a shower. The kitchen has a fridge, a deep freeze, washing machine and dishwasher, as well as all the necessary equipment for cooking. The bedrooms and some of the living rooms have night storage heaters installed. Click here for photos of the rooms. |
